KARACHI:
The severe lack of basic educational supplies is a critical issue affecting young learners in our region. For many underprivileged students, obtaining fundamental materials — such as textbooks, notebooks, proper uniforms and shoes — has become an immense struggle. Deprived of these essential tools, a growing number of children face serious obstacles in reading and writing, leading some to drop out of school altogether. Beyond the immediate academic impact, missing basic necessities chips away at a child’s confidence, self-esteem and health.
While poverty affects access to food and shelter across broader society, its toll on students threatens the very future of our country. Interrupting an education due to a lack of basic supplies undermines the well-being and prospects of young minds.
The authorities concerned should immediately launch support programmes and distribute essential school supplies to deserving students. Every child in Pakistan deserves an equal opportunity to learn and build a better future.
