Many people lose important items such as identity cards, books, mobile phones, documents, keys and other belongings while visiting public offices. At present, there is no proper place or procedure for reporting and returning those lost items.
As a result, people face great difficulty in finding their belongings and some valuable items can also be lost permanently. This situation is also highly inconvenient for staff members who have to go through extra hassle to locate those lost belongings if an owner comes back in search of them.
I kindly request you to establish a Lost and Found Desk in public institutions. A register should be maintained to record lost and found items, and notices should be displayed to guide people about the procedure. This simple step would help people recover their belongings safely and improve the quality of public services. I hope this suggestion will be considered by officials whom I encourage to take immediate action.
