KARACHI:
Child robbery has become a serious issue in our region, spreading fear and insecurity among families and communities. Children, who should be able to go to school, play outside and move around their neighbourhoods without fear, are increasingly becoming targets of criminals. Such incidents threaten their physical safety and leave lasting emotional and psychological effects, including fear, anxiety and loss of confidence. As a result, many parents no longer feel comfortable allowing their children to travel or play on their own.
This problem is made worse by weak law enforcement, limited public awareness and poor security in crowded markets, public places and isolated areas. The government should strengthen security measures and ensure strict action against those involved in such crimes. Schools and families should also teach children basic safety precautions and how to respond in dangerous situations. Protecting children is a shared responsibility, and only through the combined efforts of the authorities and the public can we provide them with a safe and secure future.
