KARACHI:
Teacher absenteeism is badly affecting children’s education, especially in villages. Many teachers do not attend their classes and as a result, children lose interest in reading and learning. These teachers take full salaries but fail to fulfil their duties. Even their attendance records show 100% punctuality. How is this possible?
In Islam, earning money without doing the required work is Haram. I have personally observed that some students are eager to learn but cannot progress because their teachers are absent. Unfortunately, many parents also cannot afford to send their children to cities for better education. In the end, these children remain uneducated. If a large part of our population stays illiterate, how will our country develop? I kindly request the government to take immediate action. Authorities should ensure that all teachers attend their classes regularly and perform their duties honestly.
