A picture is worth a thousand words

KARACHI:

There are times in international diplomacy when the real story is told not by formal statements, but by the silent body language captured on camera.
At the Bürgenstock summit in Switzerland, as leaders waited for the Iranian delegation, a sudden uncertainty arose about their participation. In that brief, tense pause, everyone’s attention shifted to the expressions of those present.
The body language of Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and US Vice President JD Vance showed leaders dealing with a fluid situation, where things were still unfolding. Their expressions reflected the sheer weight and unpredictability of high-level talks.
In contrast, Field Marshal Asim Munir maintained a completely steady and composed presence. Viewers saw his calm demeanor as a sign of control amid uncertainty, projecting stability at a time of visible tension.
Though the situation soon stabilised and meetings went ahead, the moment left a lasting lesson. In global diplomacy, meaning is often carried not in words, but in the fleeting expressions that cameras accidentally catch.
