Medical negligence

Letter June 15, 2026
Medical negligence

KARACHI:

Shahi Tump is an area of Turbat where people are facing serious healthcare problems because many employees of the local hospital do not perform their duties properly. They come only to mark their attendance and then leave without checking patients. They receive their salaries without providing proper medical services. Yet the Commissioner and Deputy Commissioner have not taken effective action against this issue.
The hospital remains active only when the DC visits or when a polio campaign is underway. This gives off the impression that some employees come only for money rather than to serve patients and improve public health. While not all employees are negligent, many are not fulfilling their responsibilities.
Doctors are considered lifesavers, but when some fail to perform their duties, it negatively affects the entire healthcare system. I am compelled to write this letter because if this situation continues, I am sure that the area will continue to face a severe shortage of proper medical care and responsible healthcare professionals. The concerned authorities must pay heed to this matter before serious negligence occurs.
