KARACHI:
Hospital wards, washrooms, corridors and surrounding areas of many government hospitals in Sindh are often terribly dirty. Proper sanitation and waste management systems are missing in most facilities. This unhygienic environment is increasing the risk of infections and hospital-acquired diseases among already suffering patients.
Cleanliness is the foundation of good healthcare. Unfortunately, many hospitals lack sufficient sanitation staff, cleaning materials and effective monitoring mechanisms.
I request the Sindh Health Department, Chief Minister’s office and hospital administrations to take immediate steps for improvement. Regular cleaning, proper waste disposal, appointment of adequate staff and strict monitoring are urgently needed. The health and lives of common people depend on it.
