Emerging AI tech

KARACHI:

Artificial Intelligence is rapidly becoming one of the most influential technologies in the modern world. From education and healthcare to business and software development, AI is transforming the way people work and learn. However, despite its growing importance, many universities in Pakistan still hesitate to properly integrate AI into their educational systems and often view it negatively rather than as an opportunity for growth and innovation.
Throughout history, many emerging technologies initially faced criticism and resistance before eventually becoming an essential part of daily life. The same situation has been observed with AI. Instead of completely discouraging students from using AI tools, universities should guide them on how to use these technologies responsibly and ethically efficiently for learning and research purposes. AI can help students improve productivity, understand difficult concepts, perform research more effectively and develop modern technical skills required in today’s competitive world. The real objective should not be to avoid AI, but to teach students how to achieve the best possible outcomes through its proper use.
Universities should organise workshops or practical training programs related to AI tools and their applications. Integrating AI into education will not only prepare students for future careers but will also help Pakistan keep pace with global technological advancement.
