KARACHI:
Sindh Public Service Commission has lost its credibility to such an extent that even hardworking candidates who pass are presumed to have bribed their way through. Concerns over SPSC’s credibility grew further when it announced the written result of CCE-2024. Among thousands of aspirants, only 70 managed to pass the exam. This is a mere drop in the ocean.
Ironically, candidates who have cleared CSS and are assigned prestigious services could not qualify the written part of the CCE exam. This raises serious doubts about SPSC’s good faith and sincerity. It is killing the hopes of thousands of aspirants who burn the midnight oil to pass the exam and secure jobs for national service and personal growth.
Responsible quarters should intervene and recheck the papers of both failed and passed candidates. Courts should also get involved and order an inquiry under impartial institutions like the Federal Public Service Commission, which has a proven record of merit-based results. All efforts must be made to ensure that merit prevails over bribery.
