Accessible addiction

KARACHI:

Nicotine pouches are rapidly becoming popular among teenagers and young adults, and their discreet design makes it more accessible. School-going students are the worst victims of this addiction. Many students think it is ‘cool’ and start using the pouches under peer pressure. This habit quickly leads to nicotine addiction. As a result, students face health issues, mental stress, lack of focus in studies and an unstable lifestyle. Their future is at serious risk.
I sincerely request parents, teachers and school authorities to pay attention to this growing issue. Parents should monitor their children’s habits, talk to them openly and guide them toward healthier choices. Awareness campaigns in schools can also help stop this trend before it harms more young lives. Together, we can protect our youth from nicotine addiction.
