Education emergency

Education emergency

KARACHI:

Education must be accessible to every school-age child in Pakistan. Currently, a large number of boys and girls remain out of school for various reasons, and the figure likely to rise alongside unabated population growth. While the government has made progress by improving state-run schools and increasing new enrollments, as reported in the press, much more needs to be done. In the best interest of our youth, the government must walk the talks as regards its declaration of “Education Emergency” in the country. Intensified efforts must be made to drive a significant positive shift in enrollment across the country. We cannot afford to compromise on investing in our younger generation; only through high-quality education will they be prepared to lead themselves and the country toward a prosperous future.
