Budget for schools

Budget for schools

KARACHI:

School-specific budget allocated by the Government of Sindh is intended to improve the quality of education by addressing basic school needs such as maintenance and minor repairs. However, its effective implementation still remains a concern in many public schools. It seems that there is a lack of awareness among school management committees regarding proper budget planning and utilisation. This results in either underutilisation or mismanagement of the allocated funds.
To ensure that the budget achieves its intended purpose, there is a strong need for transparency, accountability and proper monitoring. Training sessions should be conducted for head teachers and school management committees to guide them on financial planning and record keeping. Additionally, regular audits and community involvement can help ensure that funds are used effectively and honestly.
Education is the foundation of any progressive society, and proper utilisation of allocated resources is essential to strengthen this sector. The authorities should take necessary steps to improve the management and monitoring of the school-specific budget in Sindh.
