BPSC exam

KARACHI:

According to the latest figures issued by Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC), around four thousand candidates applied for 28 posts of Patwari, BPS-09 from the Makran region. This clearly shows the enthusiasm of candidates to secure a government job under BPSC. However, this is very unfortunate that the candidates have to travel 753 km to reach Quetta for appearing in the tests.
While such a travel is already costly, the recent oil price hike due to the US-Iran conflict has added to the cost of travel. For example, traveling from Turbat to Quetta by road is currently costing Rs5000. The transportation cost, coupled with accommodation expenses, is discouraging for candidates living in remote parts of Balochistan. Therefore, the authorities should take urgent steps to set up a BPSC test center in Kech district to facilitate the candidates of Kech, Gwadar, Panjgoor and several adjoining areas.
