KARACHI:
Every child is different in many ways, including appearance, abilities, academics and co-curricular activities. Each child is blessed with unique qualities that make them special. However, many children begin to lose their confidence when they are constantly compared with others.
This not only affects their confidence and self-esteem but also makes them feel insecure about themselves over time. Such comparisons can create frustration in their minds, which may later reflect in their behaviour. As a result, they may lose empathy and develop a negative attitude towards others.
To address this issue, parents should avoid comparing their children with siblings, cousins or classmates. Instead, they should appreciate their strengths and understand that every child learns and grows at their own pace. This approach can help children become more confident, emotionally balanced and positive and it can contribute to building a healthier society.
