Poor healthcare facilities

Letter April 28, 2026
Poor healthcare facilities

KARACHI:

The healthcare system in Turbat town of Balochistan is under severe strain and requires immediate attention. Patients face difficulties due to lack of adequate medical equipment, limited services and shortage of trained medical staff. As a result, many patients are compelled to travel to other cities for basic treatment, causing financial and physical hardship.
The small number of healthcare centres that do exist are overcrowded and are unable to meet the growing needs of the population. This clearly indicates the need for urgent improvement in healthcare infrastructure. The authorities concerned are requested to take urgent steps to upgrade healthcare facilities in this second largest city of Balochistan, ensure the availability of essential medical equipment, and deploy qualified staff in all healthcare centres.
