KARACHI:
Chogan-e-Kand Road in Turbat stands today as a symbol of neglect, where installed streetlights remain lifeless, leaving the entire area in dangerous darkness. What was meant to ensure safety has instead become a failure that is now costing citizens their security.
This darkness is not just an inconvenience it has become an opportunity for criminals. Motorcycle thefts are rising in the area, with robbers taking full advantage of the unlit streets. The silence of these dead streetlights is now louder than any warning sign, clearly exposing a lack of responsibility and urgency from the concerned authorities.
It is unacceptable that infrastructure is installed but not made functional. Public safety is not optional, it is a basic duty. If immediate action is not taken, this issue will escalate further, turning a manageable problem into a serious law and order crisis. The authorities must act now: restore the streetlights, ensure regular maintenance and increase patrols in the area. The people of Turbat deserve safe streets, not abandoned ones. The darkness of Chogan-e-Kund Road must end it turns into something far worse.
