The pressing issue for women in society is their safety. Many women do not feel safe when they walk in public, especially when they go to school, the market or their workplaces. This fear limits their freedom and participation in daily activities. Due to this fear, they are forced to stay at home, and they are not allowed to participate in any activities. But women’s contributions have an immense role in keeping communities progressive and healthy.
To improve safety in our community, I kindly request the installation of CCTV cameras and streetlights across the city. In our society, there are no streetlights which increases the risk of incidents. I also urge the provincial government and the Balochistan Commission on the Status of Women (BCSW) to take immediate measures for their safety.
