The holy month of Ramazan is a time of blessings, generosity and compassion. Unfortunately, many people face additional financial burdens during this sacred month due to the rising prices of essential food items, particularly milk.
Milk is an important part of Sehr and Iftar, as families use it to prepare tea, desserts and nutritious drinks. However, the current market price of milk has reached around Rs220 per litre in Balochistan as against the official rate of Rs180 per litre.
Authorities should strictly monitor the market and take action against shopkeepers who violate official price regulations. Regular inspections and heavy fines can discourage unfair pricing practices.
Ensuring fair prices, especially during Ramazan, is not just an official responsibility, but a moral one as well. Everyone deserves access to essential food items, especially during this holy month.
