Stop hunting birds

Letter March 18, 2026
Stop hunting birds

Birds are one of the most beautiful creations of nature. Their presence adds life, colour and harmony to our environment. They build nests in trees, raise their young and contribute to maintaining ecological balance. Unfortunately, bird hunting has become common in many rural areas.

Many people hunt birds either for food or for entertainment, without realising the damage it causes to the environment. Birds play a vital role in controlling insects, spreading seeds and maintaining the natural ecosystem. The unnecessary killing of birds disturbs this balance and threatens biodiversity.

Several bird species are already facing declining populations due to habitat destruction and illegal hunting. If this practice continues, many species may disappear completely from our region.

The government should introduce strict laws against illegal hunting and impose heavy penalties on those who violate wildlife protection regulations. Public awareness campaigns should also be conducted to educate people about the importance of protecting birds and wildlife.
