Much-needed initiative

Much-needed initiative

The recent launch of the Green Bus Service in Turbat is a welcome initiative that has the potential to improve public transportation in what is the second largest city of Balochistan after Quetta, the provincial capital. As Turbat continues to grow, the need for affordable, reliable and environment-friendly transport has become increasingly important.

Public transportation plays a crucial role in reducing traffic congestion and lowering air pollution. By providing a modern and eco-friendly transport system, the Green Bus Service can help decrease the number of private vehicles on the roads, making travel easier and more efficient for the long-deprived citizens of Turbat.

For daily commuters — including students, office goers and labourers — affordable transportation is essential. The new bus service can significantly reduce travel expenses and provide a safer alternative to overcrowded vans and motorcycles that are commonly used for commuting.

However, the success of this initiative will depend on proper management and maintenance. The relevant authorities must ensure that buses run on time, remain clean and provide a safe and comfortable environment for passengers. Expanding routes progressively to cover more areas of Turbat will also allow a greater number of people to benefit from this admirable service.

If managed effectively, the Green Bus Service can become an important step toward building a modern and sustainable transportation system in Turbat. It is hoped that the authorities concerned will continue to improve and expand this initiative for the benefit of the citizens of Turbat.
