Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Housing Society is currently facing serious difficulties due to a severe shortage of gas and an outdated pipeline system. This residential area was established in 1974 when the population was limited, and a gas pipeline with less capacity was installed accordingly. However, over the past several decades the number of houses has increased significantly, while the system of basic utilities has remained unchanged.
The old and narrow-diameter pipeline is still being used in the same condition which is why the gas pressure remains far below normal. The situation becomes particularly worse during morning and evening hours. At times, complete suspension of gas supply brings daily routines to a standstill. Residents of the area have submitted several applications and complaints to the relevant office but so far, no practical progress has been seen.
An even more alarming issue is that incidents of gas leakage are also being reported due to the deteriorated pipeline. This is not only a waste of valuable national resources but may also lead to a serious accident at any time.
Therefore, I respectfully request the authorities to immediately install a new and higher-capacity gas pipeline in Khayaban-e-Sir Syed Housing Society, conduct a detailed inspection of the existing system and take emergency measures to permanently eliminate gas leakages.
