Learning burden

Letter February 19, 2026
Learning burden

Teachers, in general, want high performance from students. Their expectations, at times, are unrealistic, and students feel stressed trying to meet them. This is how perfection becomes pressure, and many students feel it a burden beyond their capacity and capability.

A majority of students in the class often hesitate to answer questions, afraid of making a mistake and being laughed at. I have noticed my classmates copying answers or avoiding participation because they fear being wrong. Learning, which should be enjoyable, becomes a source of stress for students in such circumstances.

Teachers should accept imperfections and encourage learning, not just perfect work. Authorities in Balochistan should guide teachers in balancing standards and supporting students so that learning becomes pleasant and students can grow confidently.
