Our society is rampant with drug addicts, and the problem is widespread in Balochistan. Every corner, every street and every footpath seems to be a haven for drug-addled people. In 2022, official figures reported that there were around 280,000 drug addicts in Balochistan, with a significant portion of them under 40. Balochistan’s future looks dark because of this.
Drug addicts are not only harming themselves but also ordinary citizens. Many addicts steal items from homes, including bicycles and cars, and are even involved in serious crimes like robbery and murder. Despite this, very little action has been taken. The government should actively address the problem so that innocent citizens do not continue to suffer.
