Unrealised dreams

Letter January 26, 2026
Unrealised dreams

While our leaders debate politically for our future, there is a pain we are holding in our hearts for our nation — for the collapse of the quality of public education. Pakistan has one of the world’s largest out of school population and those who attend school often receive the kind of learning that destroys critical thinking and creativity. The divide between private systems and underfunded government schools is deeply vast and discriminatory.

This is not just an educational problem but also one pertaining to our futures. An unskilled youth craves stability, a good future and a bright career through education. But if we lose this facility, most people will give up on their dreams and goals.

It’s a crucial request that the government prioritises education as our futures depend not on the road that we build today but the minds that we shape for tomorrow.
