Focus on Abbottabad

Focus on Abbottabad

Abbottabad has long been known as one of the most peaceful and well-managed cities of Pakistan. Unfortunately, during the past few months, the situation has changed considerably, causing serious concern among its residents.

Incidents of crime, including kidnapping, murder and rape, have reportedly increased, disturbing the sense of safety that once defined the city. This decline in law and order has created fear and anxiety among citizens who were accustomed to a calm and secure environment.

In addition to this alarming situation, a new and troubling issue has emerged: gas load-shedding. Abbottabad, particularly areas like Jhangi Syedan, rarely faced this problem in the past. But it has now been observed that SNGPL disconnects gas supply during the night, restoring it only around 5am. The absence of gas during peak winter hours makes daily life difficult, particularly for families, children, and the elderly.

I appeal to the concerned authorities to ensure uninterrupted gas supply at least during winter nights. I also urge the government and law enforcers to take immediate and effective measures to restore peace and security in the city.
