Jinnah’s vision

Letter January 02, 2026
Jinnah’s vision

It is time to cut back the rhetoric and exhibit the commitment and patriotism in letter and spirit by Muhammad Ali Jinnah, Allama Iqbal and Madre Millat. We must realise by now that our salvation and survival as a nation lies in adopting Jinnah’s advice and vision. That Pakistan was created to be a modern democratic welfare state with a constitution as supreme law, where the paid servants of the state, including its judiciary, civil and uniformed bureaucracy function within confines of their defined constitutional roles.

Pakistan was not created to be a canton state, nor a state destined to revive and practise British Raj legacy of allotment of state lands and titles to paid or elected elite of this country.

We must pledge that destiny of the people of this country is decided by the people who live here and not those who have split loyalties. Let us shed forever the legacy of our oppressors. This country has suffered enough because of this.
