Over the past few months, Islamabad has witnessed a surge in music concerts and live events, drawing thousands of young people eager to enjoy music and socialise. While these gatherings are meant to provide entertainment and a lively atmosphere, a worrying trend has emerged.
Many youngsters are reportedly using drugs openly at these events, putting their health and safety at serious risk. Such behaviour not only threatens their physical and mental well-being but also creates a negative example for other impressionable youth.
Experts warn that this could lead to addiction, accidents and long-term social problems if left unchecked. Authorities and event organisers must strengthen monitoring at concerts, educate the youth about the dangers of drug use and ensure a safe and secure environment for all attendees. Parents and community leaders also stress the importance of guiding young people toward healthy recreational activities so that concerts remain a source of enjoyment rather than harm.
