Underage driving in Sukkur

Letter December 22, 2025
Underage driving in Sukkur

Underage driving in Sukkur is pretty rampant now. Every day, a large number of school-going children can be seen riding motorcycles or driving cars without any driving licence or road sense. This dangerous trend is becoming a serious threat to public safety.

Due to lack of experience and traffic awareness, these young drivers violate traffic rules, speed beyond limit and often cause accidents. Many people have been injured in these accidents, and precious lives have been lost too. Unfortunately, parents encourage this behaviour by handing over vehicles to their children without considering the consequences. Traffic police also seem reluctant to take strict action, which further increases the issue.

It is requested that the traffic authorities enforce driving laws strictly, impose heavy fines on violators and conduct awareness campaigns in schools to educate children about road safety. Parents should also fulfil their responsibility and stop underage children from driving. Ensuring road safety is essential to protect the lives of both drivers and pedestrians.
