Fire safety

Letter December 12, 2025
Fire safety

Turbat city of Balochistan faces a lack of proper fire safety arrangements. Currently, the city does not have an adequate fire safety system. Fire engines play a vital role in saving lives and property, and they are essential facilities for any urban area.

Although a few fire engines exist in Turbat, they are not sufficient for a city of this size. Whenever a fire breaks out, the response is often delayed which results in significant losses for residents and business owners. Homes and shops are damaged or destroyed before help arrives.

Fire engines and emergency response units should be available across different parts of the city to ensure quick action during emergencies. Recently, incidents of fires breaking out in diesel and petroleum shops have increased in Turbat. These businesses are at high risk, and late arrival of fire services can lead to complete destruction. I sincerely request the government and relevant authorities to take immediate steps to improve the fire safety infrastructure in Turbat by providing more fire engines and establishing an effective emergency response system.
