In the past month, a large number of residents were involved in road accidents, resulting in deaths and injuries. The absence of proper signage, speed control devices and regular road maintenance has turned our highways into hazardous zones.
Road safety is a basic human rights issue. Every loss of life or injury on our roads represents a tragic loss for families and a drain on the province’s health and economic resources. Relevant authorities must take immediate action. Prompt intervention would not only save lives but also restore confidence among the residents.
