Football is one of the most beloved sports in Balochistan, yet it continues to receive far less recognition and support than it deserves. Despite the abundance of talented players across the province, the sport struggles to grow due to lack of investment and proper facilities. Balochistan faces a serious shortage of football infrastructure, including standard stadiums, training grounds and coaching resources.
Even in Quetta, the provincial capital, the main football stadium remains in poor condition, making it difficult for teams to train, host matches or attract major tournaments.
Despite these challenges, Balochistan has produced remarkable players such as Abdul Arshad, who has proudly represented Pakistan in international friendlies. This reflects the immense potential that exists in the region — potential that can flourish with the right support.
To uplift football in Balochistan, the government and local authorities must invest in sports infrastructure, provide funding to local clubs and create development pathways for young athletes. With proper support, the province can nurture future stars and earn its rightful place on the national and international football stage.
