The elaborate security protocols surrounding high-ranking officials like MNAs, MPAs and senators often create a sense of disparity and undermine the notion of equality. While security is paramount, it’s worth questioning whether such stringent measures are necessary in every situation.
In many developed countries, leaders move about with minimal security, reflecting the trust and safety that exists within their societies. Imagine if our leaders could move freely, without the need for extensive protocols. This would not only promote a sense of normalcy but also demonstrate the government’s confidence in the country’s security.
Rather than relying on VIP protocols, we should focus on building a secure environment for all citizens. This would allow our leaders to move about freely and would be a testament to Pakistan’s progress. Let’s work towards creating a Pakistan where security isn’t just a privilege for a few, but a fundamental right for all.
