Plight of Dasht Road

Letter November 17, 2025
Plight of Dasht Road

The poor condition of Dasht Road has become a serious hazard for commuters. Despite repeated complaints, no substantial action has been taken to repair or maintain this important route. Once a key link for daily transportation and goods movement, Dasht Road has now deteriorated into a stretch full of potholes, broken edges and overflowing sewage. During rains, water accumulates, making the road nearly impassable.

This negligence has caused severe damage to vehicles, disrupted local businesses and endangered lives.

Being taxpayers, the residents deserve basic infrastructure and safety. The inaction on the part of the authorities reflects poor governance and disregard for public welfare. The relevant authorities should initiate immediate repair work on Dasht Road, including leveling and resurfacing, apart from fixing the drainage system.

Dasht Road is a lifeline for thousands of people. Swift and decisive action is needed to ensure safety, mobility and public dignity.
