One of the most concerning issues in our society is the lack of volunteerism. People are often busy with their own routines or caught up on the internet and social media. The Pakistan Giving Index 2021 indicates that around 86% of people have never participated in volunteer activities. Volunteerism helps build a caring and kind society, but unfortunately many people do not pay attention to it.
If we look around, our surroundings are full of social issues. People are often seen making videos and vlogs of these situations but never seen trying to help those who need support. Social media is full of heartbreaking clips of poverty and suffering where people show sympathy but rarely take any real action.
Teachers and educational institutions must take responsibility by organising programmes and awareness marches to educate people about the importance of volunteerism. This is the only way we can develop a helpful, successful and honest nation.
