When will Sepco start respecting the law and the rights of its customers. Nepra has made it clear that the company is in violation of Rule 4(f) of the Performance Standards by carrying out load-shedding based on aggregate technical and commercial losses. Instead of following the grid code and applying fair schedules, Sepco has created its own system that punishes consumers without reason. Nepra even discovered that feeders had not been improved for four long years despite billions allowed for maintenance.
It is shocking that even honest paying consumers are subjected to long outages because of Sepco’s mismanagement. A fine of fifty million rupees last year and now one hundred thousand rupees daily should have been enough to change their behavior, but SEPCO shows no respect for the authority or for the people. If the government does not intervene now, we will keep suffering in the dark while this company continues its arrogance and inefficiency.
