In Balochistan, young women face many challenges when travelling alone. Most struggle with safety concerns and constant discomfort on the way. Girls going to school, college and university often experience harsh and discouraging moments during their journeys.
Public buses and vans are always overcrowded, making travel extremely difficult. At times, women even feel guilty for being on the road alone, as constant stares from passersby worsen the situation. In such conditions, women cannot feel safe outside their homes.
The outside world often feels cruel for females and at times even dangerous to their well-being. This is an alarming issue that demands urgent attention. Women must travel for education and work, but due to insecurity and overcrowding, many live in fear — and some even avoid travelling alone altogether.
The government must take serious steps to ensure women’s safety and expand public transport facilities. Only then can women travel freely, without fear, in a safe and supportive environment.
