No hospitals

Letter September 29, 2025
No hospitals

When there is no hospital nearby, even a minor illness can become life-threatening. This is the harsh reality of my homeland, Shapuk. Our village is far from the city, and the nearest hospital is almost an hour away. In emergencies, this long distance can cost precious lives.

Not even a small clinic exists to provide basic treatment. Poor families suffer the most, as many cannot afford transport to the city. Patients are left helpless, and lives are sometimes lost simply because immediate medical care is out of reach.

I urgently appeal to the government and health authorities to establish a hospital — or at least a small clinic — in Shapuk. This step would not only save lives but also bring much-needed relief and security to the people of our area.
