There is an increasing problem of pesky mosquitoes in Karachi. With every passing day, the city’s residents are facing severe health issues due to mosquito breeding, especially after rainfall and waterlogging in various areas.
The rise in mosquito population has led to a significant increase in diseases such as dengue, malaria and chikungunya. Stagnant water in streets, poor drainage systems and lack of timely fumigation campaigns are major reasons behind this alarming situation. Citizens are living in constant fear, and children are particularly vulnerable to these illnesses.
It is the urgent duty of municipal authorities to take immediate action. Regular fumigation, proper waste disposal and cleaning of drains can help control this. Public awareness campaigns should also be launched to encourage people to keep their surroundings clean.
I request the concerned departments to take serious and practical steps before the situation worsens further.
