Costly higher education

Letter September 25, 2025
Costly higher education

The issue of high university fees is becoming increasingly pressing day by day. It is depriving many talented students of their right to higher education and is standing as an obstacle between the younger generation and their bright futures.
A university is meant to be a government institution where both male and female students shape their futures and prepare themselves to eventually serve the nation.

However, due to economic problems, many parents are unable to afford their children’s education, sometimes even choosing to only send their sons instead of their daughters. As a result, a large number of capable students remain deprived of high-quality education, which is not only a personal loss but also a loss for the country.

If university education is made free, everyone will get an equal opportunity to study and later on play their roles in the progress of Pakistan. Therefore, I sincerely request the government to consider this action and mobilise their resources to make higher education affordable for everyone.
