 A world without trees

Letter September 18, 2025
 A world without trees

Imagine waking up one morning to find that there are no trees around us. The world would look empty, dry and lifeless. Trees are not just ordinary plants; they are the lungs of our Earth. They give us oxygen, provide shade and keep the environment cool. Without them, life on this planet would be nearly impossible.

If there were no trees, the air would be filled with smoke, dust and harmful gases. People and animals would struggle to breathe because of the shortage of oxygen. There would be no fruits to eat, no wood for shelter and no natural homes for birds and animals. Gradually, our planet would turn into a desert.

Trees also protect us from floods, soil erosion and extreme weather. Without them, climate change would accelerate, rainfall would decrease and global temperatures would rise dangerously — posing a serious threat to human survival.
A world without trees means a world without life. To save our planet, we must plant more trees and take care of the ones we already have. Trees are not only a part of nature; they are the foundation of our future.
