Hospital for Asyabad

Letter September 09, 2025
Hospital for Asyabad

KARACHI:

Asyabad is a small town of Balochistan located 20 kilometers west of Tump Tehsil. The area has government high school, few private schools, tuition centres, a library, a mosque, a marriage hall, etc. However, there is no hospital in the entire area. When people get injured, have accidents, or fall seriously ill, they have to travel to Turbat for medical help. Many people die on the way to Turbat. There are many male doctors in Asyabad, but since there is no hospital in the area, they have to work in Turbat. These doctors want to serve their own village, but without a hospital, they cannot.

Recently on my way to Asyabad, I saw some people sobbing and crying on the road. When I asked one of them why, he told me his son was very ill and struggling to breathe. Since there was no hospital nearby, they wanted to travel to Turbat. Unfortunately, no local car was available for four hours, and by the time they found some transport, the boy had passed away. This tragic death was only caused by the lack of a hospital and unavailability of transport.

I request the government to take immediate steps to build a hospital in Asyabad.
