Mosquito infestation

Mosquito infestation

Students at the University of Karachi are facing a serious public health concern. Recently, there has been a noticeable increase in mosquito infestation across the university. This has not only made it difficult for students to sit in classrooms and open areas but has also raised the risk of mosquito-borne diseases such as dengue, malaria and chikungunya.

Despite repeated outbreaks of these diseases in Karachi, there seems to be no proper fumigation or preventive measures being taken at the university. Students are expected to continue their studies in unsafe conditions, worrying more about mosquito bites than their classes.

It is the responsibility of the university administration to ensure a safe and healthy environment for its students. Immediate fumigation drives, proper waste management and regular cleaning of stagnant water areas are urgently needed. Without these measures, the health and safety of thousands of students remain at risk. I strongly urge the concerned authorities to take this matter seriously and act promptly before it leads to a health crisis in the university.
