If one wants to see how a traffic hump must not be built, the much protruding line of cat-eyes on two-thirds of the road accompanied by a flat piece on the remaining road near Lalazar Colony’s main gate at Niazbeg Thokar is a perfect example.
What happens is that motorcyclists and car drivers coming from the main city swerve to pass through the flat portion at full speed while some slow down to negotiate the line of cat-eyes. It creates a dangerous situation for resident drivers of the society while getting out of the main gate. They have to be cautious of two types of traffic coming from the main city — both slow traffic that crosses the hump and fast traffic crossing the flat road.
As a result, the site is never without broken windshields and motorcycle accidents. Nobody knows who is responsible for making this setup — the management of the society or the road department. However, I on behalf of the residents of the society request the higher-ups to remedy the situation.
