A brain drain crisis continues to drain our nation’s potential. Every year, thousands of talented Pakistani doctors, engineers, scientists and scholars leave our homeland in search of better opportunities abroad. This exodus, often driven by lack of facilities, limited research funding and unstable career prospects, deprives Pakistan of the very minds that could lead us to prosperity. Independence is not only about political freedom; it is about self-reliance and national growth.
On this Independence Day, I urge our policymakers to invest in youth, create strong research ecosystems and promote entrepreneurship so that our brightest minds see their future here, not elsewhere. Let us honour the sacrifices of our forefathers by making Pakistan a land where dreams can be built and realised without leaving home.
