KARACHI:
Career counselling works as a roadmap for students towards success; but unfortunately, students in Balochistan, particularly in rural areas, are deprived of this basic academic need. As a result, they remain confused about their future, choose random fields, or follow outdated advice that does not match their interests, hidden skills and strengths. Even most students are unaware about the full range of fields available to them. They just know the usual choices like medical or engineering. But there are many other important fields like writing, business, law, teaching or computer work. Due to this lack of guidance, their talents are wasted, and they may leave studies or end up in jobs they don’t like. Our educational institutions and relevant authorities must pay special attention to this vital educational aspect.
