Balochistan, reflecting a deeply troubled state, faces a severe crisis in its health sector. The unavailability of primary healthcare services, shortage of medical officers and a large number of unimmunised children highlight the province’s alarming condition. According to official reports, around 60% of primary healthcare centres lack medical officers.
Furthermore, in some districts, as many as 75% of children are not routinely immunised. The provincial average of anaemia stands at 99.4%, which is one of the highest rates in Pakistan. The deteriorating health situation in Balochistan demands urgent and strategic action from authorities to ensure basic healthcare for its population. The people of Balochistan, especially its children, deserve access to equal healthcare rights.
