KARACHI:
The issue of overcommitment is becoming quite common amongst students and working individuals nowadays. In today’s fast-paced world, people take on too many responsibilities in the hope of achieving more. However, overcommitting often leads to stress, poor performance and mental exhaustion. It also affects our physical health, relationships and peace of mind. Furthermore, when we try to manage too many activities at once, we compromise on quality. People feel pressured to say ‘yes’ to everything, fearing they may miss opportunities or disappoint others. But it is important to understand our limits and maintain a healthy balance. Schools, colleges and workplaces should raise awareness about time management and setting priorities. Learning to say ‘no’ when necessary is not selfish, it’s wise.
