Since the introduction of e-bikes, there has been an exponential increase in the number of young riders — some as young as eight to ten years old. These children, often untrained in road safety and traffic regulations, are frequently seen riding with younger siblings or friends.
Many are observed speeding or even overtaking cars, posing serious risks to themselves and others on the road. Such reckless behaviour can easily lead to fatal accidents.
This alarming trend calls for immediate attention from both parents and traffic authorities. Parents must ensure their children are not using these vehicles unsupervised, while regulators should enforce strict age limits and safety measures to prevent potential tragedies.
