Traffic accidents

Despite being one of the most pressing tragedies in Balochistan, the issue of road accidents remains unaddressed. The statistics of 2024, according to The Balochistan Post, claimed that in the first quarter alone, Balochistan reported 167 incidents, resulting in 121 fatalities and over 417 injuries, affecting 538 families.

Besides this, a particularly tragic event occurred on May 29, 2024, when a bus traveling from Turbat to Quetta fell into a ravine in Washuk district. This accident claimed the lives of at least 28 people and injured 20 others.
Overall, every day multiple accidents occur in Balochistan, resulting in several injuries and deaths. The biggest causes of these dangerous accidents include poor condition of roads, neglected traffic rules, overloaded vehicles and underage drivers.

To fix this, concerned authorities as well as the Government of Balochistan must act quickly and improve infrastructural conditions. By working together, both the government and citizens can make roads in Balochistan safer for everyone.
