Road accidents in Balochistan are steadily increasing, resulting in a tragic and mounting loss of lives. Just a few days ago, at least four people died and 31 were injured when a speeding passenger bus overturned on the National Highway in District Kacchi. The accident occurred due to the high speed of the bus as well as the deteriorating conditions of the roads.
According to a recent report by Medical Emergency Response Centre 1122, it is estimated that in January 2025 alone, there were 1,831 accidents across the province, resulting in 39 deaths and 2,409 injuries. The government must ensure proper road safety infrastructure and launch awareness campaigns to help curb these accidents. It is imperative that the authorities take swift and effective action to implement stronger safety measures and protect precious lives.
